Feeding the Democratic Process
Calgary has had its share of colourful political figures: Jimmy the Con, electric blue, Ralph Klein, bloodshot red, Al Duer… beige…
I’m not too sure what colour Jeremy Zhao is, but he definitely brings a new shade to Calgary’s upcoming Mayoral race.
Jeremy is using podcasting and video podcasting to help promote his platform. I have heard Jeremy’s first two shows and they are not too bad. But what is important is Jeremy’s Juice - Google Juice, that is. Type “Calgary Mayor Podcast” into Google and Jeremy is number one.
You can find links to Jeremy’s podcacst in the podCALGARY directory.
This years mayoral candidates include:
- Barry Eldridge
- Oscar Fech
- Doug Service

Let me preface this by saying, I appreciate that he’s taking a new approach to Calgary’s politics.
But, Calgary’s still a very right-wing, traditional, “old boys club” type of city. I’m not sure just how much attention this will bring to his overall cause.
I’m wondering if Jeremy’s message will transfer when placed in a debate or interview situation.
It’s be interesting to see his stats, as this progresses.
